Abstract
In this proposed project, the behaviour of light visible as well as infrared is studied underastrongvariableandconstantelectricfiled. Asperthehypothesisawavechanges itswavelengthorfrequencywhenitissubjectedtoanelect ricfieldoforderKVthrough a dielectric material. Using this phenomena, it will be studied that if light can be modulated in frequency domain for faster optical fibre communication. A simple laser beam which will be parallel polarized to the electric field should produce deflection in the beam when passed through the optical medium such as lens or glass. Again the optical medium is used to obtain the deflection as we know that various frequencies undergo different angular refraction through the denser medium. Finally, at the receiver a light beam will be received whose deflection is controlled by the strong electric field.
