Abstract
Airborne Collision Avoidance System X
(ACAS X) is a family of future collision avoidance
systems. ACAS XA is intended to replace the current
Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System for
large aircraft as well as provide collision avoidance
system for General Aviation (GA) and Unmanned
Aircraft Systems (UAV). In this paper we present an
overview of a next-generation onboard safety system
and its extensions to other types of aircraft which
have not yet been covered by collision avoidance
systems.
