Abstract
This study aims to examine the impact of the integration between the adoption of Demand Driven Material Requirement Planning (DDMRP) implementation and Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies on improving operational performance in firms. To achieve this, a literature review was conducted a literature review to develop a conceptual framework that explains how the DDMRP and I4.0 technologies influence each other and how they relate to manufacturing system performance indicators. The proposed conceptual framework includes drivers, barriers, processes, and benefits and discusses their inter-relationships. The results showed that integrating DDMRP and I4.0 helps organizations adapt to changes in the dynamic market. This paper is among the earliest research efforts to present a conceptual framework for integrating DDMRP and I4.0. As a result, a new concept is developed, which is referred to as DDMRP 4.0.
