Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to reduce losses and improve the reliability indices before and after 6 and 33-bus reconfiguration with optimal location of DG. The Loss Sensitivity Factor (LSF) method is used for an Optimised Distribution system for loss reduction and reliability improvement. The cut-set approach is used to obtain the reliability indices like SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI. DG optimal location using Maximum Loadability Index (MLI) before and after reconfiguration for reduction of losses and improvement of Reliability indices. Finally, the obtained results are compared with existing methods.
