Abstract
An automatic phase change over switch is designed primarily to disconnect load from its power source and transfer it to a standby source say generator, in case there is a power outage. Th e switching process is done in a controlled manner so as to prevent the false starting of generator at very short power outages. Once the supply is restored, the load is transferred back to mains supply The ent ire process is controlled by a control unit that keeps sensing to detect that whether the main supply is available or not.
