Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects—devices, vehicles, buildings and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity—that enables these objects to collect and exchange data [10]. For the network to operate smoothly all the time, there must be a mechanism to detect failures in any of the nodes in the network topology and automatically assign a new pathway so that the communication does not get affected. This paper Zigbee based Self- Organizing Networkinvestigates a way for any IoT network that uses ZigBee protocol for communication to dynamically assign an alternate path in the mesh network i.e. self-organize, whenever a node through which data is being routed fails.
